Positive in Sobriety is an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting first and foremost, it has a secondary emphasis on alcoholics in recovery dealing with the challenges of Hepatitis C and/or HIV infection. The meeting is open to all (addicts and alcoholics, positive and negative, etc.). Our motto is, “For the infected and affected”. Our goal is that it will be a safe place for discussion of those secondary challenges. Participants need to identify as alcoholics if they wish to share, but it is an open meeting and anyone may attend. The format is a 20 minute speaker followed by group participation. Announcements include both AA information, as well as information on HIV+ and/or Hep C+ trials, medications, treatments, support groups, etc. We have a separate area set aside for HIV and/or Hep C related literature and information independent of the AA literature rack. “What you hear here, Whom you see here, When you leave here, Let it stay here.” Here - Here! 12:30pm - 2:00pm.
